The Rangers are ideal commercial laying houses for free-range flocks; the Mini-Ranger houses up to 20 birds and the Midi-Ranger houses 50 (both capacities dependent on the size of the birds).

There is an overhanging roof (porch) to provide some shelter to the nest box, and ventilation is provided with both fixed draught-free vents and vents that have sliding perspex covers to allow light into the house when closed.

The droppings trays are positioned under the roosting perches, and slide out for easy cleaning. Hen access to the nesting boxes is made easier by the provision of landing rails in front of the box. Egg collection is made easier by the hinged lid on the waist-high external nest boxes.
